The young girl flutters her eyes open in the morning. She says melancholy "Still crying while sleeping". She walks up to the mirror to see herself as a mess. Looking at the stains of tears on her face, she recalls that ill-fated day when her family met an untimely demise and she survived. She remembers her brother's final words "Luna, live". She remembers her brother's face vivid yet distorted with time.
As she left for school, she was greeted by her friend Liora who wore a radiant smile and has a personality stark contrast to Luna's somber demeanor. She is girl with a bright smile and warmth. She radiates good vibes, helpful, kind yet smart in her own rights. She says "Long time no see Luna". Luna replied "Hi, Liora" reluctantly. Liora understood Luna far too well because of her innate talent of understanding others' emotions and feelings. That is why she persisted in helping Luna alter her perspective on the world, determined to shatter the oppressive chains of the past that dragged Luna into a vast sea of despair.
Upon entering the classrooms, she was met with eyes of strangers with whom she studied with but never talked with nor indulged herself with. She felt tension built up as she met with their questioning eyes and inaudible gossips about her. As she clenched her left arm, she felt a hand on her shoulder reassuring her everything is alright and without a doubt it is Liora's hand. She felt at ease. Liora then escorted her to her seat. Liora then consoled Luna about the situation and told her brighten up a little bit. Luna nodded and gave her a faint smile which Liora sighed as knew the smile was not genuine and spoke volumes about her present somber demeanor.
After the class, the weather worsened and Luna walked towards home. On the way, to home she came across a lake. She reminisced about her deceased family. She remembered the day her bright world turned into a storm of guilt and despair. She shook the ill thoughts out of her head clenched her left arm and bowed her head down and returned home. She threw herself in the bed and slept to forget these haunting memories of her deceased family and of that very specific day.
As she opened her eyes, it was midnight and she realized that she has slept through lunch and dinner. She shrugged this off as a minor inconvenience. She then thought of that lake and went out for a stroll. She came across the same as in the afternoon. She felt solace whenever she visited the lake. She could hear her family calling her to the other side where she could be free of shackles of life and finally find the peace she was longing for all her life. The lake seemed to call her to take her to other side. A promise which allured her to step into the lake and forget her pain and anguish she experienced over years and submit herself to the lake. The lakes embrace despite being cold and stinging felt nice and promising to an end. She felt a never felt tranquility and calmness in her clouded mind, assured that everything will end. The shackles of life that bound her to the mortal realm is about to be broken. When she opened her eyes she saw blue and dark everywhere, her instincts screamed to survive, the cold of the lake seemed to paralyze her but her mind was in the state of tranquility. Instead of resisting, she opened her arms and welcomed death that was about to claim her. She felt relived as she about to live it all behind and meet her family on the other side. She closed her eyes and lost slipped into unconsciousness.
After a while, she regained her consciousness, she asked herself panting "Was that a dream?". She looked around and asked herself frightened "Where am I?" darkness and thought to herself if she was banished into nothingness. She further panicked and asked "What is this place? There is no end to it!". She regained her composure and cracked a joke "So, this is afterlife. Quite gloomy if I say so...". There was no response. She remembered Liora and thought she would have been on cloud nine if she found out Luna cracked a joke. Her sight met by darkness where ever she looked. The floor beneath was not visible or better to say not existing. She felt chills in that location. She was curious about the realm she was wandering in. She could not fathom the thought of being dead as she was supposedly alive and breathing though the darkness veiled the realm but she was not afraid of it rather cautious of the place she was roaming around. She felt as if the place was ALIVE and wants to devour anything inside of it. But she thought there was something more to it then it seemed. This place did not incite any fear rather feeling of tranquility and calmness which she found suspicious. She started to think more about this unknown void was traversing. She
